Our annual general meeting was held on Tuesday 12 May 2026 at Gotherington Village Hall. Parents, volunteers and Trustees met to look back on the year and do the formal work of the Group.
Group Lead Volunteer’s update
Nic Coates took on the role in September 2025 after Dean Gore stepped down. The Group has grown to 72 young people and 17 volunteers, with 42 on the waiting list. January saw the District’s first Squirrel Drey open (Squirrels 12 · Beavers 24 · Cubs 24 · Scouts 8 · Young Leaders 4).
Every section had a full Autumn and Spring of activities and adventures. We’ve also put longer-term foundations in place: a new Trustee Board, a move to Scoutworks for group management, and this website on Scout Pages — with waiting list and section info in sync, and a shop for neckers and future Group clothing.

What was agreed
- Adopted The Scout Association’s model constitution for a Scout Group
- Confirmed our financial year runs 1 April to 31 March
- Set a maximum of six Trustees, and a quorum of six for future Scout Council meetings
- Reviewed the year and approved the annual accounts
- Appointed Rosie Collier as Group Chair and Jo Aspinall as Group Treasurer
- Appointed the Trustee Board: Nic Coates, Rosie Collier, Jo Aspinall, Jake Daglish, Samara Williams and Ben Williams
