1st Gotherington Scouts has been part of village life since officially registering with The Scout Association in 1995. For over 30 years, hundreds of young people have walked through our doors — building friendships, learning new skills, taking on challenges and, in many cases, later returning as volunteers themselves.
Today, our Group continues to grow. We support more than 70 young people, from Squirrels through to Scouts, backed by a dedicated team of over 10 volunteers who make everything possible. While proudly rooted in Gotherington, we now also welcome members from Bishop’s Cleeve and Gretton.
We’re here to help young people gain skills for life, while giving adults the opportunity to make a meaningful difference within their own community.
In 2025, Nic Coates stepped into the role of Group Lead Volunteer, with a clear focus on sustainable growth — opening a Squirrels section in January 2026, welcoming new volunteers and strengthening our connection with the wider community.
Our home remains Gotherington Village Hall — a familiar and well-loved base for weekly meetings, activities and the next generation of adventure.
Whether you're looking to join as a young person or volunteer your time, there’s a place for you here.
